City, Country & Sea Colour Palettes
Just a short post, but at least I’m starting to not only post again but also spice up the variation on here and give you something other than book reviews! Following on from my last post, which explored the importance of daydreaming, I thought I’d take a quick look at another aspect of life I’ve been dwelling upon lately – colour.
It’s not often I have stopped to think about how it has the ability to change us. It can do everything from relaxing to aggravating us (and that's sometimes just the debate over a color being considered red or blood orange).
Anyway, the original inspiration from all this came from watching Wes Anderson films – you know the ones; perfectly symmetrical shots down to the millimeter and color pallets so defined he probably spent 2 years alone in a cave with nothing but a Pantone swatch book for company...
Love or hate the distinctive style you probably can’t avoid it, whether mixed into the mass of retro-hipster-chic on Tumblr or in the new wave of interior décor taking inspiration from his work. I bet you an Olivetti typewriter there will be an Instagram filter before the year is out!
In celebration of the appreciation of color I have created some of my own color palettes from some places I went in 2014 - London, Durham and the Dorset coast. Enjoy.
